My art is for my subjects. Authenticity is crucial. Among my motivations is to honor and portray the Western way of life accurately. The people who invite me not only into their workspace – but into their story – carry the tradition of a part of America that I love. I am blessed with this gift from God and when my work can make the subjects proud of what they do, I’ve achieved my intent. Ultimately, I’m trying to capture the appeal or splendor of a moment in a way that moves someone to ask questions, piques their curiosity or influences their views or thoughts.
